Step 3: The Venn Diagram
- Step 3: The Venn Diagram
-
If you want to compare ideas to see what they have in common, the Venn diagram is excellent.
-
Start by drawing two large circles on a page. Put one on the left and one on the right.
Make sure they overlap so there is space in the center where you can write.
-
Write one fact in the left circle. For instance: "The first creature in space was a dog sent
up by the Russians in 1957."
-
Put a second fact in the right circle. Such as: "The United States sent a chimpanzee into outer space in 1961.
-
What do the two facts have in common? Write this in the center area. Example: "Scientists
first tested an animal before sending a person into space.
- Spacedog: You can combine this method with other
methods when taking notes.
- Go to a blank Venn diagram page that you can print.
